Title: Licensed Mental Health Professional
Administrative Supervisor: On-Site Health Services Administrator
The Administrative Supervisor overall is responsible for ensuring the therapist is complying with the QCHC Employee Handbook. This will include, correcting the therapist’s time in Paychex, approving any leave requests, handling any dress code issues, and being the point of contact if the therapist needs to call in or change their schedule. The Administrative Supervisor may also need to assist in coordinating communication between the therapist, medical personnel, and correctional personnel.
Clinical Supervisor: Corporate Mental Health Director(s)
The Clinical Supervisor overall, is responsible for ensuring the therapist is complying with the QCHC Policies and Procedures. This will include, consulting with the therapist on any clinical decisions and questions, staffing cases, assisting in determining the most appropriate level of watch for inmates, and fostering a teamwork approach between the therapist, medical personnel, and correctional personnel. The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for auditing charts and conducting the 90 day and yearly evaluations of the therapist. The Clinical Supervisor may also assign any extra clinical duties needed such as debriefing officers and inmates, as well as providing trainings in the facility.
Position Summary: The Mental Health Professional is responsible for interviewing inmates who are on suicide watch, assessing suicide risk, referring to attending physician when appropriate and triaging other mental health requests from medical and correctional staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Utilize therapeutic interventions to assist identified inmates during their incarceration
• Coordinate with medical and correctional personnel to provide optimized care
• Render accurate diagnosis or diagnostic impression based on information obtained during initial mental health assessment and subsequent sessions (if license allows)
• Conduct psychosocial evaluations and mental status exams
• Develop, with client’s assistance, an individualized treatment plan and monitor client’s progress utilizing the treatment plan
• Keep up-to-date, concise, and accurate documentation
• Assure prompt and appropriate response in emergency situations
• Incorporate discharge planning techniques into sessions, such as providing outside resources and referrals as needed
• Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Mental Health Director and the On-Site Health Services Administrator

Education, Skills and Competencies
• Master’s degree or equivalent in Counseling, Social Work or related field
• Current, valid license in field
• Highly esteemed in moral and ethical character
• Maintains firm boundaries in therapeutic relationships
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
• Maintains annual continuing education requirements
• Able to utilize a teamwork approach
Hours will be based on facility need and contractual agreement.
